<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<u><span style="font-family: Arial;">Andrew Jackson, The
Iron-Willed Commander</span></u><span style="font-family: Arial;">, is an
extraordinary book! I knew he was the 7th President of the </span><st1:country -region="-region"><st1:place><span style="font-family: Arial;">United States of America</span></st1:place></st1:country><span style="font-family: Arial;"> but wow, what I found out about his life is
incredible. This book covers his life from start to finish. From the time he was
orphaned at 15 to how both his brothers were killed, and then how He became one
of the greatest Generals that ever walked the face of this earth! It shows you
the Andrew Jackson as a sophiscated young lawyer and also how he met, fell in
love, and eventually married the beautiful and sweet Rachel Donelson. This book
actually covers some of the sweetest and heart-wrenching letters and prayers
that </span><st1:city><st1:place><span style="font-family: Arial;">Jackson</span></st1:place></st1:city><span style="font-family: Arial;"> wrote to Rachel while he was at war. Some may not
know this but </span><st1:city><st1:place><span style="font-family: Arial;">Jackson</span></st1:place></st1:city><span style="font-family: Arial;"> was involved in more than one duel. During one of
them He was shot in the chest, just a couple inches from his heart but Old
Hickory stood firm and raised his gun and shot and killed his adversary. Andrew
Jackson was amazing General and war hero. He even got the name Old Hickory for
being so tough. Of course this book<u>, </u></span><st1:city><st1:place><u><span style="font-family: Arial;">Jackson</span></u></st1:place></st1:city><u><span style="font-family: Arial;">; The Iron-Willed Commander,</span></u><span style="font-family: Arial;"> expels the story of the Battle of New Orleans and
how Old Hickory became an American Icon! From his orphaned childhood to his
youthful lawyer days, raging warrior to Commander in Chief, Andrew Jackson was
a true American Hero!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
Wow! That kind of says it all. The American Patriots Bible
was an amazing edition, full of so many great quotes, stories, and facts. From Genesis
to Revelation the Bible is the most exciting and incredible book that ever was
written! I have to admit that I’v never seen the Bible in this way before. The
American Patriots Bible gives you a whole new perspective on <st1:country-region><st1:place>America</st1:place></st1:country-region>,
freedom , liberty, our founding fathers, and how the Bible has influenced every
generation since the birth of our Nation. This edition takes you into the heart
of our Nation during the Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War I and World
War II. It also gives parts of speeches and prayers that some of the American
Presidents gave, such as Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and Ronald Reagan.
It also has little footnotes that show where certain American Presidents placed
their hands on certain Scripture when they took the Oath of Office.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It has a whole section on Monuments to
American Patriotism with Scriptures and where you can find them in our Nations
Capital, <st1:place><st1:city>Washington</st1:city>, <st1:state>DC</st1:state></st1:place>.
This Bible covers the subject of equal rights and has excerpts from the great
Martin Luther King Jr. All in all the American Patriots Bible is extraordinary
and it helps me to realize that God is still working in <st1:country-region><st1:place>America</st1:place></st1:country-region>
and I believe He is Not done with us yet!</div>

Graham’s writings and teachings.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>“Nearing Home” was an interesting book and when I first saw the title and started reading it, my first impression was that this book is for old people.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I thought that a young person in their twenties wouldn’t have any need or get much out of this particularly book. Well to be honest, I have since changed my mind and opinion. <o:p></o:p></span></div><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>This book covers grief, aging gracefully, retirement, and even the golden years. I guess what I liked the most about “Nearing Home” is that it also talks not just about all these subjects, but Mr. Graham describes a lot of personal, <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>private feelings and emotions that he had to face in his life.<o:p></o:p></span></div><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Rev. Graham talks about how God has a plan for everybody’s life and that there is always a purpose to live for. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>That a purpose-driven life is not just for the young person in college with his whole life ahead of him, or the healthy businessman who is on top of the world.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Rev. Graham explains that even the elderly have a purpose in life.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>God has a plan for the life of an 80 year old woman in the local nursing home and He also has a future.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It doesn’t matter whether you’re sick, feeble, elderly, in a nursing home, or even near death, God has a purpose for the moments in your life.</span><br />

<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">Well to be honest, this book, <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><u>More Lost Than Found</u></i>, is quite interesting. I have never read a book by this particular author, Jared Herd, but needless to say it was quite an experience. As I read this book, I kind of had an awkward feeling. It was like I agreed on most of the stuff he was writing but then in a way felt uncomfortable and maybe even a little convicted about some stuff. For example where he said,<o:p></o:p></span></span></div><span style="font-size: small;"> </span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.5in; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>“Somewhere along the way, Christians began to treat God as if he lives inside of churches and wants you to consume only things labeled Christians, but everywhere else in culture he is nonexistent.”<o:p></o:p></span></span></div><span style="font-size: small;"> </span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.5in;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He also said, <o:p></o:p></span></span></div><span style="font-size: small;"> </span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.5in; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">“There is the church we go to or the Christian stuff we participate in, and then there is the rest of our week.”<o:p></o:p></span></span></div><span style="font-size: small;"> </span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It is a very challenging book but somewhere between chapters you become a little bored, tired, and ready to finish so you can say you are done. As I pointed out, it has some very good thoughts and I agreed with a lot of what this book said, but not all. I don’t agree with some of his theology. Maybe it’s the way he comes across, but to be honest, I would not take the time to read it again.</span></span></div><span style="font-size: xx-small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the Book Sneeze book review program. In my opinion, he is one of the most amazing Christian authors. In his book, <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><u>No Wonder</u></i> <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><u>They Call Him the Savior,</u></i> he brings the struggle of Jesus in the <st1:place><st1:placetype>Garden</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename>Gethsemane</st1:placename></st1:place>, the humanity of Jesus on the cross, and the power of the resurrection to life. He also relates in a very profound way the story of not only Jesus, but the people who loved, lived, hated, and betrayed Jesus. </div><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.25in; text-indent: 0.25in;">In this book you will have the chance to look through the Roman soldier’s eyes at the foot of the Cross, understand Mary’s perspective on that fateful day, see God’s unconditional love to the thief on the Cross, and then also experience the feelings of “Doubting Thomas”.</div><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.25in; text-indent: 0.25in;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I was especially moved by the one chapter where he went through the whole story of Jesus, from the Garden to the resurrection, in just one word sentences. It was a very powerful chapter called “Alive”. I also appreciate the personal stories that Mr. Lucado added to this book and the powerful words of testimonies of unlikely people of whom God saved, transformed, and then used for His glory. I would highly recommend this book and suggest you defiantly purchase it for your own library. </div><br />
